Spraying vs. Brushing - Sealcoating Applications

in Sealcoating Applications

In the world of parking lot maintenance the burning question about sealcoating is?...... Which is better to apply sealcoating, brushing or spraying?

The answer is very simple; both processes will provide a quality sealcoating job.  What’s really important is how much sealer is left on the pavement.  If you brush sealer and you push hard on the brush, you can pull a lot of material with it leaving very little left on the asphalt.    While spraying, if you move to quickly, not enough material is applied to the ground.  In both processes, if the contractor adds more water to the sealer than is recommended by the manufacturer, you will have a poor sealcoating job.

Brushing or spraying sealer? It doesn’t matter.  What matters is who is applying the sealer and will they make sure the customer has the proper amount of sealer left on your parking lot.
